There is a language that finds expression beyond words. While, we the Homo sapiens have apparently outrun the other species in terms of evolution an overwhelming sense of controlling nature has consumed us.
This is the story of an elephant chained in a camp life bordering the forests. The age old relationship of man and elephant has marveled many an imagination. However, it hangs on the strings of one predominant emotion-‘power’.
The following series brings to you a very different elephant story that is wild by nature but not in ‘Nature’.
This particular individual was few months old when it got separated from its herd which moved into farmlands cutting their crucial corridor.
What followed next was a series of actions forcing the herd to move out and in the commotion this infant was left behind. Rescued by the forest department it found shelter with the family of Mahouts (the elephant care-takers)
Horrified, stressed and without the assurance of its mother the wild free spirit died a slow death as it slowly was forced to adapt a life that the wild doesn’t teach and the nature disposes.
After a month or so, the inevitable happened.
What life denied in its living, death gave him-‘Freedom’
